Airbus delivered its 12000th airliner
On May 20, 2019, the European Airbus Air Concern delivered its twelve thousandth airliner to the customer. The narrow-body Airbus A220-100 aircraft was produced at a Canadian factory in the city of Mirabel A220-100 and delivered to the American airline Delta Air Lines. It should be noted that the first Airbus aircraft delivered 45 years ago in May 1974, it was an A300B2 airliner, and the first operator was Air France.
The rapid growth of aircraft manufactured by Airbus has demonstrated in recent years, since the concern set its six-thousandth plane in 2010, that is, 36 years after the first aircraft, and after, in less than ten years, the same 6,000 airliners were produced and delivered. It is also worth noting that 74% of all aircraft produced by the group account for just the narrow-bodied airliners Airbus A320 and Airbus A220, and the 320th model is right now the most ordered airliner in the world and already surpasses its direct competitor, the world's most massive passenger aircraft, Boeing 737 and in the coming years may take this title from Boeing.
