Pratt & Whitney shortened the life cycle of engine parts for the A220 and E195
Pratt & Whitney has shortened the life cycle of the front hubs of the high-pressure compressor of the PW1500G and PW1900G engines installed on narrow-body Airbus A220 and Embraer E190 / E195-E2 families, respectively. According to the publication MRO Network, this happened after the discovery of increased corrosion of parts during a scheduled inspection of the engine.

The Federal Aviation Administration of the United States (FAA) reported on May 31 that the corrosion of the front hubs was found under an anti-corrosion coating. In addition, according to the FAA, corrosion may occur even during engine downtime.
